A letter from a Muslim to Muslims, Dear Muslims, Many of you are taught that the Jews are among the greatest sinners on earth. But let me ask a simple question: If that were truly the case, why is Israel—a tiny Jewish state—performing light-years ahead of most of the Muslim world in science, innovation, medicine, and democracy? And why do the few Muslim countries that chose to recognize and cooperate with Israel suddenly start thriving as well?

Perhaps the problem is not the Jews. Even the Qur’an itself says: “O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over the worlds.” (Qur’an 2:47) And again: “O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over all peoples.” (Qur’an 2:122)

The Qur’an repeatedly acknowledges the special status given to the Children of Israel. So perhaps the real question Muslims should ask is not why Jews succeed. The real question is why so many Muslims were taught to hate the very people their own scripture once praised.

Perhaps centuries of mistreating God’s people have something to do with the suffering of the Muslim Ummah. If you seek redemption, begin by abandoning hatred. Become better people.
